Israel Folau, a 19 year old NRL superstar, is about to make his debut in the games toughest arena, State of Origin. So Inside Sport decided to take a look into schoolboy rugby league to see how young footballers are being developed so professionally into elite NRL players.

Gold Coast rugby league nursery, Palm Beach Currumbin High School (PBC) uses a Sports Excellence program to give teenagers with potential the best platform to be able to reach sports highest levels.

However there are many opinions on the way the program is run, and the detrimental effects it may have on students lives if they don’t make the elite level.
