Young people having addictions isn’t anything new. The headlines are saturated with out-of-control binge drinking and drug use amongst teenagers and twenty something’s.

But now a new aphrodisiac has caught their attention, and their collective gaze doesn’t look like breaking anytime soon. It’s not sniffed or gulped or injected… it’s the internet.

It’s been called “the addiction” of generation Y. Facebook and Myspace in particular have a dedicated following, who would much rather whittle away hours in front of a computer screen than do much else.
